The Association of Cardiothoracic and Thoracic Surgeons of Sri Lanka (ACTSSL) mourns the passing of Professor David Taggart, Professor of Cardiovascular Surgery, an exceptional surgeon, cherished mentor to many cardiothoracic surgeons in Sri Lanka, and a wonderful colleague.

He graced the 2025 ACTSSL Annual Congress as the Chief Guest and was honoured with the prestigious Honorary Fellowship of ACTSSL. His wisdom, kindness, and contribution to cardiothoracic surgery will remain an enduring inspiration.
