The Council of the Sri Lanka Association of Cardiothoracic and Thoracic Surgeons (ACTSSL) comprises elected representatives and prestigious luminaries within the cardiothoracic and thoracic surgical fraternity of Sri Lanka. While holding the responsibility for guiding the association's activities, the Council plays a vital role in setting strategic objectives, ensuring governance, advocating for member interests, and facilitating education and training initiatives.

Moreover the Council stringrntly oversees the implementation of policies and procedures, maintains financial transparency, and upholds ethical standards. Through advocacy efforts, the Council represents the interests of cardiothoracic surgeons and addresses pertinent issues affecting the specialty, engaging with government agencies and healthcare organizations.
